Project Unbreakable Empty
PostSubject: Project Unbreakable   Project Unbreakable EmptyThu Mar 01, 2012 5:21 pm

This forum isn't usually to dicuss serious issues, but I came across this campaign and wanted to spread the word about it.

I know we have a number of minors in this clan, and I wanted to post a spoiler alert on this post that the campaign I'm about to discuss tackles some very graphic and unpleasant issues.

Project Unbreakable

Project Unbreakable was set up by 19 year-old Grace Brown in Washington DC. The campaign targets victims of sexual abuse, be they male or female, young or old, and asks them to come forward.

Grace began the project by taking photographs of victims she knew, holding up signs with quotes from their attackers - to take back the power in those words that have haunted them their entire lives.

From there the campaign has exploded, and Grace is receiving hundreds of emails a week from people all over the globe. She has a blog set up where the images she has received are posted, and she visits as many of the survivors as she can to talk with them about their experiences.

Her goal is to make Project Unbreakable a global phenomenon, that will allow her to travel around the world and reach out to these victims and let them know that they are not alone. There is 37 days left to donate, and even just a dollar will help her campaign grow.

If you'd like to follow the campaign, her tumblr feed has most of the details at http://projectunbreakable.tumblr.com/
